Before any system design or planning takes place, the very first step in the process leading to an RFID installation is an assessment of the concept. In the most global terms, what is the problem that needs to be addressed? Without any bias toward a particular solution, describe the pain point. The value of an RFID assessment is that it will lead to a solid and empirically-supported conclusion about how the problem is best solved—whether or not it is an RFID solution, often a less expensive barcode solution can be found.

Installation Documentation and Utilities- Once the system is designed, which is a collaborative process involving the customer and the engineers, all documentation necessary to support the installation is compiled. This includes EMS publications, manuals and software to support installation planning. All project documents are assembled into one resource kit and shipped to a customer-designated point of contact.
